You don't have to venture far to see some breathtaking scenery, or to just enjoy the wonderful delights of the village of Cartmel itself, right on your doorstep.

Many of our guests are quite happy just to stay in Cartmel, and enjoy its riches. There’s no doubt though that our part of the Lake District opens up a whole range of wonderful choices for our guests, whether you are travelling alone, with a partner, or the whole family. The home of sticky toffee pudding including its own village shop, our 12th century priory, the famous racecourse and of course the no 1 rated restaurant in the whole country; the Michelin starred L’Enclume. Unsworth Yard with its own wine shop/bar, bakery, cheese shop and micro brewery is also well worth a visit.

With countless pubs and gift shops,  Cartmel’s medieval village is a gorgeous picture postcard, a ‘thimble full of diamonds’ to wander round.

This lovely Victorian seaside town, steeped in grandeur and possessing its own micro climate. The wonderful promenade, park and lake, bandstand and large number of independent shops make this a lovely place to wander round. Famous Hazelmere Tea Rooms and Higginsons the butchers are must visits.
